Padre Pio Bike Ride

We will meet at Blimp City Bike and Hike on Merriman Road in the Valley to start the journey. Parking is available on-site or at the parking lot in the back. Bring your own bike or rent one for $12/hour (helmet included). You will need a 3 hour rental. 

We will leave the bike shop at 11 a.m. and bike north up the towpath to Szalay’s Farm. It will be a 6 mile ride to Szalay’s Farm. The bike ride one-way roughly should be about 30-45 mins. A schedule is listed below.

We will plan to take a break at the Beaver Marsh before arriving at Szalay’s Farm for lunch. You can bring a bagged lunch or enjoy grilled sandwiches (Deli Dogs, salmon, turkey burgers, sausage, or pork loin), and roasted corn on the cob available for purchase.  ITE will buy you a sweet treat!

Father Merzweiler will join us to offer a talk about Padre Pio around noon and his continuing influence on our culture.  We will then bike back to the bike shop to return the bikes and go our merry ways.  Hope to see you there! 

If it is lightly raining, the event will go on.  In the event of heavy rain or storms, we will relocate to a shelter for the talk.  Please RSVP to receive the latest updates on our location.
